Introducing: The Sheet Shop on Etsy
I learned how to quilt last summer and have really fallen in love with the whole process. I immediately started building up a stash of fabric by visiting my local quilt shop. Realizing that I would quickly break the bank buying premium quilting fabric, I started looking into alternatives. In my research, I discovered something...vintage fabric, specifically vintage bed sheets. I had never thought of quilting with them. But as soon as I found my first sheet at a local thrift store, I was hooked! Vintage sheets are very soft because of multiple washings, and often have unique colors and patterns not found in modern fabrics. So I scoured thrift shops near and far, searching for unique vintage sheets in great condition to use in my own quilts. I've collected so many now, that I decided to open an Etsy shop dedicated just to vintage sheets! I buy them, bring them home, and sanitize them in my washer. Then I rip them on the grain and cut them into oversized fat quarters, 19"x23". I leave plenty of each sheet uncut in case someone requests more yardage. I've done all the work so you don't have to!
